2025 Peak Forest Adventure: Walking Among the Clouds in Zhangjiajie

The Qingdao AoboTec Automation team traversed the undulating landscapes of western Hunan on foot. This journey was not only a pilgrimage to nature's awe-inspiring creations but also a moving symphony of team cohesion and mutual inspiration forged amidst the mountains and rivers.

At the Orange Isle—The Fire of Ideals Tempered by the Xiang River

The Orange Isle stands like a verdant seal in the emerald waves of the Xiang River, where the statue of the young Mao Zedong stands solemnly. His gaze seems to pierce through the mists of history, fixed upon the surging river. Our group formed a neat line before the statue and recited “Qin Yuan Chun: Changsha” in unison. The resonant verses echoed in the river breeze, like sparks ignited in our hearts, quietly illuminating the banks of the Xiang River.

Shaoshan—The Birthplace of a Great Leader Carries Forward His Legacy

As the wheels rolled toward Shaoshan, the air seemed to grow thicker with solemnity. Before Mao Zedong's former residence, we laid a floral tribute, bowed our heads in respect, and silently murmured the great man's name. In that stillness, we felt as though we were once again touching the warmth of those tumultuous years. On behalf of all employees at Qingdao Aobo Tech Automation, we solemnly presented bouquets before the bronze statue and bowed deeply. The statue stood serene and dignified, its gaze seemingly piercing through time—directed toward the boundless horizon and toward us in the future.

Phoenix Ancient Town—A First Encounter in the Glow of the Tuo River

We arrived at Phoenix Ancient Town in western Hunan just as dusk fell. Wandering deep into the ancient alleys paved with blue-gray flagstones, we passed weathered wooden stilt houses lining both sides, silent witnesses to the passage of time. As the setting sun slipped away, lights began to flicker along both banks of the Tuo River. The gentle river embraced the scattered lights, transforming them into a dreamlike galaxy of stars. The Rainbow Bridge soared across the river. Leaning against the railings, we gazed into the distance, watching the shimmering lights on the water, as if transported into the surreal world of Shen Congwen's Border Town. The footsteps on the ancient bridge and the lantern reflections in the Tuo River became the most tender footnotes to our first encounter with Western Hunan.

Furong Town and Huanglong Cave—A Grand Symphony Where Mountains Meet Water

Arriving first at Furong Town, its roar deafens us before we even draw near—a colossal waterfall plunges straight down, crashing into the deep pool with a thunderous roar, churning up waves of snow-white foam. Mist fills the air, bringing a refreshing coolness. We climbed the damp stone steps, where mist swirled around the Tujia stilt houses, seemingly suspended in midair. Together with the thunderous waterfall, they formed a breathtaking spectacle. Amidst the roar of the falls, camera shutters clicked in harmony with our mutual gasps of wonder. Group photos, dampened by mist yet brimming with smiles, captured our awe and emotion before nature's majesty.

  In the afternoon, we ventured deep into the heart of Huanglong Cave, where the landscape transformed instantly. Inside, marvels abounded: stalactites and stalagmites took on myriad forms, their colors shimmering under carefully designed lighting, creating an underground palace. Stalagmites stood like forests, stone waterfalls cascaded from the ceiling, and the towering “Pillar of the Sea” stood as if holding up the heavens. In the dim, shifting light, they whispered ancient tales of water wearing away stone and the silent passage of time. We wandered among them, marveling at the sights before us while whispering about the miracles of geological shifts spanning millions of years. It felt like reading a magnificent history book, hidden deep within the earth and written in stone.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park—Hand-in-Hand Trekking Through a Sea of qifeng

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park welcomed us with its peerless quartz sandstone peak forest. Stepping into the park, we looked up to see thousands of peaks vying for beauty, towering ten thousand feet high, as if carved by chisels and axes, piercing the clouds like a frozen, majestic symphony between heaven and earth. Together, we traversed the deep canyon of Jinbian Stream, where murmuring waters and birdsong deepened the mountain's serenity. Stone peaks flanked the path like silent giants standing guard. Climbing Yuanjiajie, on steep slopes, colleagues instinctively offered helping hands. Words of care and encouragement filled the rugged trail with warmth and camaraderie. Standing atop the peak, we surveyed the landscape: mist like gauze draped over rugged slopes, peaks emerging and vanishing in the sea of clouds. Such a scene belongs only to the heavens—how often does it grace the mortal world? Among the peaks, the silhouettes of friends supporting one another became the most moving adornment to this extraordinary vista.

Tianmen Mountain—An Ode to Courage Above the Clouds

The final destination: Tianmen Mountain. As the cable car ascends, the abyss deepens beneath, forests transform into emerald carpets, and hearts race with awe. At the summit, Tianmen Cave opens wide, clouds surging through its colossal archway like tidal waves—a truly spectacular sight. Nine hundred and ninety-nine steps of the “Heavenly Ladder” wind upward, leading directly to the stone gate suspended at the edge of the sky. Stepping onto the glass walkway clinging to the cliff face, the abyss below becomes starkly visible—each step a test of courage. Through thrills and challenges, we conquered our inner hesitations together, leaving unforgettable memories of standing shoulder to shoulder amidst the clouds, sharing the grandeur.

We once recited our ideals at Orange Isle, paid silent tribute before the bronze statue in Shaoshan; savored the warmth of everyday life amid Phoenix's lanterns, marveled at nature's artistry in the depths of Huanglong Cave; We played with macaques along Jinbian Stream and gazed down upon the boundless sea of clouds from Tianmen Cave's summit. Every ascent, every gasp of wonder, every hand extended in support—all silently forged a more resilient and profound spirit unique to the “Aobotai people.”

Bidding farewell to the landscapes of Western Hunan, we carry away not just the images captured in our cameras, but also the majesty of the mountains, the resilience of the waters, and the clarity of mind that pierces through mist and clouds. These gifts from nature will surely become the strength propelling us forward, empowering Qingdao AoboTec Automation to scale our own higher, more distant Heavenly Gates on the journey ahead!

This journey through mountains and rivers allowed us not only to feast our eyes on nature's marvels, but also to measure the depth of trust with our footsteps and feel the warmth of teamwork with our hearts. The mountains and rivers of Western Hunan are no longer mere markers on a map. They have become coordinates in our collective memory at Qingdao Aobo Tech—an eternal resonance of courage, trust, and unity within our hearts.
